“Be a 2015 GRRSN Calendar Star and help out a Golden friend. Don’t have a Golden friend? That’s OK, you can be OUR friend!”
For a $25 donation you can be a part of this great fundraiser and showcase your Golden or Golden Friend in a 1″ X 1.25″ snapshot on our 2015 Golden Friends Pages. If you think that you are perfect for the Calendar Cover, a $300 donation will accomplish that.
If you submit the $150 or $300 donation, you will qualify to have your photograph taken at Petographique Pet Photography who will make you one of the 2015 Calendar Stars……
Oh! And by the way, if you know anyone who would like to advertise in our calendar, $50 will buy them a business card size ad!

Winning video for The American Pet Products Association‘s non-profit public awareness campaign, Pets Add Life received the 2012 “Best Viral Video” Strategic Video Award for its “Pet Interviews: Guinea Pig” video.
“We are so excited to receive this award,” Bob Vetere, president and CEO of APPA. “Our main goal with the ‘Pet Interviews’ video series and the campaign as a whole is to promote multiple pet ownership and we could not be happier to see what a huge success the series has become.”
The Strategic Video Awards were created for companies and organizations that use video to communicate for corporations, associations, non-profits, public institutions, colleges and universities, PR firms and ad agencies, and custom publishers. Video submissions are judged by expert practitioners and are evaluated based on how thoroughly they have met communication objectives. One winner, along with honorable mentions, is awarded in each category.
Featuring “talking” animals in a series of videos to help promote multiple pet ownership, PAL’s ‘Pet Interviews’ videos are produced by the creator of the wildly popular ‘Ultimate Dog Tease’ YouTube hit, Andrew Grantham. Grantham’s videos have received more than 100 million views and were named No. 2 on YouTube’s Top 10 videos of 2011.
Founded by APPA, the non-profit PAL campaign is designed to demonstrate the joys and benefits of responsible pet ownership and encourage increased animal adoption.

No matter how much you do; whether you rescue, foster, give hours, a can of food or share this, THANK YOU!
In Honor of those who rescue and support them.
My job is to assist God’s creatures.
I was born with the drive to fulfill their needs.
I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless creatures without planning or selection.
I have bought dog food with my last dime.
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand.
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid.
I have fallen in love a thousand times.
And I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body too many times to count.
I have Animal Friends and friends who have animal friends.
I don’t often use the word “pet”.
I notice those lost at the road side and my heart aches.
I will hand raise a field mouse and make friends with a vulture.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren’t animals in Heaven, but I believe there are.
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?
Some may think we are masters of the animals, but the animals have mastered themselves…something people still haven’t learned.
War and abuse make me hurt for the world, but a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind.
We are a quiet but determined army and we are making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan, nothing more rewarding than saving a life, no higher recognition than watching them thrive.
There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play who, only days ago, was too weak to eat.
By the love of those who I’ve been privileged to rescue, I have been rescued.
I know what true unconditional love really is, for I’ve seen it shining in the eyes of so many, grateful for so little.
I am an Animal Rescuer.
My work is never done.
My home is never quiet.
My wallet is always empty, but my heart is always full.
Please pass this along.

Nonprofit The Animal Foundation, 655 N. Mojave Road, one of Nevada’s largest open-admission animal shelters and pet adoption centers, is seeking donations of new and gently used linens, including: towels, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, T-shirts and sweatshirts.
During summer, The Animal Foundation receives more than 100 animals per day.
Donated linens are used to make the animals more comfortable and to keep the young and underweight animals warm.
Due to the cleaning procedures for donated linens, items must be washed in a high bleach-to-water concentration, which breaks down materials quickly.
Additionally, once an item has been torn, it cannot be used again. Items with stuffing (comforters, pillows, dog beds, etc.) can only be used once as they cannot be completely disinfected.
Linens can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at the shelter. For more information, visit animalfoundation.com.
